About WTCS Garth K. Williams has been in the computer technology business since 1986. He has been involved all aspects of IT from procurement to implementation and post implementation support. Primarily involved in financially oriented mission critical networks, he has been involved in the mainframe to PC conversion of many credit unions throughout western Canada from 1986 to 1995. Recognizing the weaknesses of Windows SNMP support, he designed SNMP4NT, a free Windows NT (3.51/4.0) SNMP extension agent based on Microsoft resource kit tools. This agent has been used extensively by network administrators around the world as a way to monitor critical system resources. This tool was first released on the web site "SNMP for the Public Community" in 1999. In 2000, he worked with America Online, helping design and implement an SNMP-based network management system for their voice portal (AOL by Phone), part of which took advantage of the performance information provided by SNMP4NT. Over the past few years, SNMP4NT has evolved into SNMP4W2K (supporting Windows 2000 Servers), and most recently into SNMP Informant, a completely redesigned performance counter agent, supporting Windows 2000, XP and 2003 computers, with additional support for application services such as MS Exchange and MS SQL Server to name two. Currently employed full time with a large system integrator in Western Canada, he has been providing consulting services surrounding business process re-engineering for large players in the energy sector. WTCS is based in Edmonton, in Alberta, Canada. Contact: 780-908-6669
